she picks him up, gives him a squeeze, he cries.

me:"leave him."

again, no response.

she picks him up again, gives him a squeeze again, he cries again.

me:"eliza, is there something wrong with your brain today that you can't listen and obey?"

eliza:"mom, there is nothing wrong with my brain, i think satan is tempting me to not listen to you. and its working. that satan is a bad man."

how do you argue with that.

wow, what a crazy week.

first week of summer break is always a little dicey.

add a mama in the hospital and its a doozy!

she is out and ding better.

the road to recovery is a long and winding one for her.

she can do it. she is strong.

around here, things are as busy as ever.

ethans off for a week at scout camp.

emma plays 9 holes of golf every wednesday.

she is seriously awesome.

sam made all stars for baseball so that is great for him,

the rest of us...not so sure. lots of time at the ball field.

eliza is doing art camp right now and American girl camp in august.

we are currently preparing for her big recital!

as for me, i am the chief taxi driver, short order cook, housekeeper, nurser,diaper changer, etc....

life is good, busy. but good.

she's in i.c.u.

her routine surgery(gall bladder) did not go so, routine-ly.

it had burst and she was full of infection.

she's on a vent, and its just plain scary.

so prayers if you could.

weekend wrap up.

well it has been quite eventful around here.

lots of goings on.

first up....

this little sweetie graduated from kindergarten.

i can hardly stand it.

ouchie on the heart.

on to bigger and better.

first grade here we come!

next up,

family party for the boy.

the resident teenager.

and the big surprise party.

it was awesome if i do say so myself.

the best part?

ethan had no idea!

we had pizza, popcorn, snowies, candy, cake,

ping pong, bball, xbox's, the tramp, and an outdoor movie.

we had about 35 kids. it was a success.

while josh and i were setting it up we kept

asking each other,"why are we doing this ?"

oh ya, cause ethan is an awesome kid, thats why.

and i just had to throw this in.

eliza climbed on the shed today and got stuck.

she waited patiently for dad to rescue her.

i loved this face as she came running in!

i don't think she'll do that again.

and that my friends is our weekend in a nutshell.

we also had a schools out ice cream party in the park,

sam also tried out for all stars. (fingers crossed)

and josh and i had a fun night out with our friends to

celebrate his 37th year.

on to the first week with the kids at home.

we held a family counsel tonight and laid the smack down.

maybe i'll show you my job charts and summer rules list tomorrow.
