Tonight I was driving home from the store with my 4 year old Eliza and the
car must have seemed quiet because she said,"mom, are you thinking about something?"
The answer was yes. In fact i've been thinking about something since last night and it won't leave me.
I was reading my friend Laura's blog and she had a post about a blog she likes to visit and the story has haunted me. It's about this family......
This story is so sad, and tragic.
What links me to this woman? Why is my heart broken for her?
The answer seems obvious.....she is laying in a burn unit fighting for her life, her children are missing her, her husband is in the same situation, her family knows she will never look the same. I could go on and on.
I am sad. As I read her blog this mom loves her life. She takes the time.
The time to love her husband and her children. I'm sure she is not perfect, but as I read on she became a great example to me.
Too many times I don't stop for the really important things. She does.
I feel like this was a wake up call. I have had these before, but for some reason this feels different.
She was a mom, loving her family and her savior and now she is being tested....
and even though I don't know her, she had taught me something over these past 24 hours....
take the time to stop and do the things that matter most because will there be a tomorrow?
The answer is usually a yes to that, but I am gong to blink and Ethan will be on a mission and my baby will be rolling her eyes at me
(ok she already does that but it will be 16 year old eye rolls...way different)
I don't want to have regrets, I know that if this sweet mother loses this battle there will be no regrets....she loved and lived each day....
and now so am I.
Donate if you can, it will make you feel better.
