end of summer days.

boy oh boy have we been busy around here.

soccer and football are in full swing.

we love it.

we were able to spend a couple of day in park city

for ethans tournament.

they did great.

i love watching him.

 school shopping.

come on, who doesn't love that.

i think we're nearly done.

man my kids have grown.

lots of things were needed.

and lets get real,

i love shopping for my kids.

we have spent lots of time at

grandma and grandpa greats

this summer.

i'm so glad.

they love this little chess set there.

eliza in all of her soccer glory.

2 kids in comp?

why not!

we were able to escape to bear lake for a few days.

it was heaven.

we love it there.

poor emma sprained her ankle the 

second to last day there.

she was a real trooper.

i was so proud of her.

we were able to have one last day

at the lake with our buddies.

my kids love boating.

most importantly this will be the summer

that i lost my grandpa.

i am so heart broken

many don't know that he practically raised me.

well, he did raise me.

i cherished him.

 it was so good and so hard to be with him

in his final hours.

he was the kindest, gentlest man i've ever known.

i will miss him so much.

 on the way to the cemetary they drove him past

his home one final time.

it was his pride and joy.

the hours spent in the yard,

working and playing.

goodbyes are rough on all of us.

i'm not sure i will ever get over losing him

buti think my cousin put it best when she said,

"grandpa, although your song has ended,

your melody will play forever."

through it all i realized i have the best friends in the world.

there were so many acts of kindness and service

rendered to me and my family.

i really might not have survived this week without the love and support.

whether it was kind words, a hug, a fridge full of food,

a phone call....

i could go on and on.

i love you all.

i hope you know it.

summer is ending.

there is so much still to do.

much fun to be had!

so i better get to it.

i think i'll start by celebrating my

17th wedding anniversary tomorrow

with my best friend, my heart,

my hubby.

the best 17 years of my life.
